Training Pipeline Losses

The role of the RSP is to ensure all RSP Soldiers successfully complete Initial Entry Training (IET).

In order to prepare every Soldier, the RSP must counter the Top 5 Reasons for Training Pipeline Losses:

  1. Physical Readiness: Warriors are physically unprepared for the rigors of BCT and cannot meet the graduation standards.
  2. Administrative Issues: Warriors arrive at BCT with incomplete 201 files resulting in training delays or Mandatory Return if they cannot complete training before their high school classes resume.
  3. Attitude Problems: Warriors exhibit poor attitudes which culminate in lack of motivation or an inability to adapt to military life.
  4. Moment of Truth Issues: Warriors belatedly admit to issues that may affect readiness to ship including legal and medical problems, traffic tickets or drug use.
  5. Fear of the unknown: Warriors develop apprehension towards their upcoming BCT experience and may question their commitment to the ARNG (What have I gotten myself into?).
