VA Resources for Soldiers

The VA has established the Office of Seamless Transition for returning Army National Guard Soldiers of Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom to provide benefits information and assistance to eligible Veterans who honorably fought and served in our Nation's armed forces.

Vet Centers provide readjustment counseling and outreach services to all veterans who served in any combat zone. Services are also available for their family members for military related issues. Veterans have earned these benefits through their service and all are provided at no cost to the Veteran or their Family.

Am I eligible?
The primary factor in determining basic eligibility to VA benefits is “Veteran status,” which is established by active military service and a discharge or release from active service under conditions other than dishonorable. National Guard Soldiers who served on active duty in a Title 10 – or Federal – status establish “Veteran status” and may therefore be eligible for VA benefits, depending on the length of active military service and the character of discharge or release.

What can the VA do for me?
The VA can help you access the health and medical services to which you are entitled. Additionally, they can assist you in taking advantage of educational, home loan guaranty and insurance benefits.
