Loan Repayment Programs

The Student Loan Repayment Program. For members that have an existing student loan obligation at the time of enlistment in the Army National Guard, there is a program that may pay up to $20,000 for a six or eight year enlistment as a member of a unit. In addition, current Army National Guard members who extend their enlistment contract for a minimum period of six years are also eligible for this program providing they meet certain requirements. The Health Professionals Loan Repayment. For members that have an existing student loan obligation at the time of joining the ARNG or acquired during time as a member in the Army National Guard, there is a program that may pay up to $50,000 while a member of the ARNG. In addition, current Army National Guard members who extend their service obligation may also be eligible for this program providing they meet certain requirements.   • Loans do not have to be pre-existing prior to appointment
  • Cannot be in an excess or over-strength position and must be MOS qualified in the duty position
  • Must be directly related to Licensure
